Alexandra is an outdoor educator and a public middle school science teacher in the California Bay Area. She holds a Bachelor's in Biology, a Master's in Environmental Science, and a California State Teaching Credential.

Alexandra worked as a naturalist for three years at an outdoor school located near Yosemite National Park, where she led children on hikes. She has also spent three summers working for Camp Galileo as a lead science instructor. Though Alexandra now teaches science in a conventional classroom, she also continues working outdoors as a naturalist, leading hikes in the Marin Headlands for Hostelling International (as part of a program through the National Park Service). Traveling, camping, and hiking are some of her favorite activities.

Born in Romania, Alexandra lived and studied in Romania and Portugal before moving to the United States. She moved to America in her 20s to be an au pair for an Orthodox family with three children, during which time she met her future husband Mihai Boitor. Mihai and Alexandra are members of Holy Cross Romanian Church in San Jose.

Alexandra has served as the director of the West Conference Children's Program from its beginning, and she plays a lead role in the camping excursions hosted by the St. Kosmas Homeschool Association for the West Coast Region.
