With us everything should be secondary compared to our concern with children,
and their upbringing in the instruction and teaching of the Lord.
~ St. John Chrysostom

Department of Homeschooling

This department was created in 2015 and is staffed by volunteers who are grateful for the Metropolitan's support for this growing educational option. The primary goal of the Department of Homeschooling is to promote, support, and unite homeschooling families throughout the Archdiocese. Secondarily, we seek to remind all parents that their children's education is their responsibility, whether or not they outsource this task.

His Grace Bishop Thomas, Diocese of Charleston, Oakland & the Mid-Atlantic, is our hierarchical overseer, and Fr. Noah Bushelli (St. Philip Orthodox Church, Souderton, PA) is our director.

St. Emmelia Orthodox Homeschool Conferences

This is the flagship ministry of the Department of Homeschooling.  Growing out of more than a decade of success at the Antiochian Village, we are grateful to be expanding by offering local conferences in Texas and California.  We bring together homeschooling families for worship, fellowship, and education.  Each conference is "locally grown" with oversight from the department - to match the tenor, needs, and abilities of the local homeschooling families and the facilities.

If you are interested in bringing a conference to your area or are in need of a scholarship to be able to attend a conference, please contact Fr Noah through the department of homeschooling website.
